Salary:$81,610 – $82,899 + 12% Super

About the Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Team Leader to oversee the delivery of parks maintenance services across a variety of public open spaces, including parks, reserves and streetscapes. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate daily operations, support your team, and help maintain high-quality community assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the parks maintenance crew.
  • Oversee turf, horticultural and landscape maintenance programs.
  • Supervise the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Coach, train and support team members to maintain high performance and safety standards.
  • Inspect parks and public open spaces, identifying maintenance requirements and reporting asset issues.
  • Monitor work quality, productivity and completion of scheduled maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports and operational documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, traffic management and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and respond to operational enquiries when required.

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Experience leading teams within parks, horticulture, landscaping, turf or open space maintenance.
  • A Certificate III (or higher) in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Turf Management or a related discipline.
  • Current MR Driver's Licence and White Card.
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices, risk management and plant operation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and lead by example.
  • A customer-focused attitude and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.

The following will be viewed favourably:

  • Experience operating specialised turf and horticultural equipment.
  • Basic Traffic Management accreditation.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Chainsaw certification.
  • Previous experience mentoring, training or developing operational staff.
