About the Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Team Leader to oversee the delivery of parks maintenance services across a variety of public open spaces, including parks, reserves and streetscapes. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate daily operations, support your team, and help maintain high-quality community assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the parks maintenance crew.
- Oversee turf, horticultural and landscape maintenance programs.
- Supervise the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Coach, train and support team members to maintain high performance and safety standards.
- Inspect parks and public open spaces, identifying maintenance requirements and reporting asset issues.
- Monitor work quality, productivity and completion of scheduled maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, traffic management and environmental requirements.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and respond to operational enquiries when required.
About You
To be successful, you'll have:
- Experience leading teams within parks, horticulture, landscaping, turf or open space maintenance.
- A Certificate III (or higher) in Horticulture, Parks & Gardens, Turf Management or a related discipline.
- Current MR Driver's Licence and White Card.
- Strong knowledge of safe work practices, risk management and plant operation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and lead by example.
- A customer-focused attitude and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
Highly Regarded
The following will be viewed favourably:
- Experience operating specialised turf and horticultural equipment.
- Basic Traffic Management accreditation.
- Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Chainsaw certification.
- Previous experience mentoring, training or developing operational staff.
