In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality planning outcomes, supporting subdivision, development, zoning, and land use in line with statutory requirements and planning principles.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess and prepare reports for major development applications, while coordinating and approving minor applications
- Coordinate the assessment of subdivision applications and ensure compliance with approval conditions
- Liaise with landowners, developers, and internal teams on development applications and planning matters
- Support the review and development of local planning policies and scheme amendments
- Assist with business planning, process improvements, and enhancing customer service within the planning function
- Comprehensive knowledge of local government statutory planning procedures, roles, and responsibilities.
- Solid knowledge of WA planning legislation and frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex applications and competing priorities
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Temporary contract with the possibility of permanency
