We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer / Payroll Supervisor to lead the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll services over a 12-month contract period.
You’ll manage two fortnightly pay runs (approximately 70 and 200 employees respectively) and ensure all payroll processes meet legislative, policy, and industrial agreement requirements.
This hands-on role will see you mentoring team members, supporting system enhancements, and contributing to ongoing process improvements within the payroll function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for two fortnightly pay runs.
- Ensure compliance with Industrial Agreements, legislation, taxation, workers compensation, and long service leave regulations.
- Supervise and support payroll staff, ensuring timely and accurate pay outcomes.
- Manage payroll reporting and reconciliations for Finance, the ATO, and superannuation funds.
- Provide professional advice to leaders and employees on pay and entitlements.
- Oversee payroll system administration, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with the People & Culture Business Partner on compliance and improvement initiatives.
- Conduct audits and strengthen payroll controls to reduce financial risk.
- Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience in a medium to large organisation.
- Proven experience interpreting Industrial Agreements, policies, and relevant payroll legislation.
- Strong systems administration background, including configuration and testing.
- Experience with Aurion is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop team members.
