The Project Officer supports the delivery of Council projects across the full lifecycle, taking ownership of active initiatives and ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes. The role contributes to uplifting the City’s project management framework and PMO capability by developing tools, templates and reporting standards. Working with stakeholders across the business, you’ll support change, build project capability, and deliver clear portfolio and project reporting while promoting collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Project Manager – Engineering / Capital Works Focus
This role has a strong focus on civil, building, and infrastructure projects.
Key additional responsibilities include:
- Managing civil construction, building works and infrastructure projects.
- Developing capital project frameworks with a focus on engineering outcomes.
- Supporting contractor management, technical risk and construction governance.
- Providing specialist advice on capital works delivery and engineering risks.
- Supporting PMO practices aligned to capital and infrastructure programs.
Project Manager – Project Lifecycle / Enterprise Focus
This role focuses on end-to-end project lifecycle management and enterprise uplift.
Key additional responsibilities include:
- Managing projects across corporate and capital programs.
- Driving consistency and efficiency across the project lifecycle.
- Supporting enterprise-wide adoption of project management practices.
Selection Criteria:
- Proven project management experience, ideally within local government or a similar environment.
- Relevant qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Construction or similar.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound understanding of project governance, PMO practices and delivery frameworks.
- Experience managing budgets, procurement and contracts in a compliant environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance
- WA C Class Driver's Licence and a reliable vehicle
