ChoiceOne is recruiting a Parks Technical Officer to join a well-respected local council. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong horticultural knowledge and parks maintenance experience who enjoys a varied role combining office-based planning with time spent out in the field supporting projects and inspecting parks and reserves.
You'll play an important role in maintaining parks, reserves and public open spaces to a high standard while supporting the Parks Operations team with planning, technical advice and contract management.

The role
- Split your time between the office and out in the field
- Coordinate and oversee parks maintenance programs
- Provide technical advice on horticultural practices and public open spaces
- Assist with planning maintenance schedules and future works
- Carry out site inspections and monitor the quality of works
- Supervise contractors and monitor project delivery
- Prepare specifications, quotations and tenders
- Maintain asset records and technical documentation
- Build positive relationships with contractors, staff and the community
- Support the Parks Coordinator with leadership across the team
About you
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in parks, horticulture or open space management
- Relevant horticultural or environmental qualifications, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience coordinating contractors or leading maintenance works
- Good computer and reporting skills
- Current WA C Class Driver's Licence
- Traffic Management and Senior First Aid tickets are advantageous
