Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Sydney, NSW

About the Role

This full-time position is perfect for an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.


Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in line with protocols.
  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging using PET, SPECT, and gamma cameras.
  • Experience with PET/CT or hybrid imaging systems.
  • Position patients and explain procedures clearly and compassionately.
  • Monitor patients for reactions and ensure radiation safety standards are met.
  • Process and analyse images for diagnostic quality.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance and equipment maintenance programs.

What You’ll Bring
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and nuclear medicine imaging principles.
  • Proficiency in the safe handling, preparation, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Experience with PET, SPECT, CT, and gamma camera systems.
  • Ability to analyse image quality and adjust procedures accordingly.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with imaging equipment and safety systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining accuracy in documentation and patient records.
  • Clear and compassionate communication with patients, including those who are anxious or vulnerable.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and fellow technologists.
  • Confidence in explaining complex procedures to patients in an understandable way.
  • Adherence to radiation safety standards, infection control, and ethical medical practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and AHPRA requirements
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and participating in continuing education.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving procedures, protocols, and multidisciplinary work environments.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality and a strong sense of professional integrity.
