About the Role
As Media and Communications Advisor, you will be advising and assisting with the development and delivery of strategic communication that informs, engages, and promotes in alignment with the organisation values and goals. This is a dynamic and hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the power of media engagement, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level strategic media and communications advice to support organisational objectives and build public trust.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate communication strategies across traditional, digital, and social media channels.
- Identify and capitalise on proactive media opportunities to promote programs, services, and achievements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, media contacts, and community partners.
- Translate complex information into clear, engaging content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Monitor media coverage and community sentiment to provide timely insights and manage reputational risks.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in media, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong ability to foster and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A background in journalism is desirable but not essential.
- A collaborative, proactive approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Contract role with an immediate start.
