ChoiceOne is recruiting an experienced Manual Machinist for an immediate start with a well-established, Australian-owned engineering business based in Welshpool.

This business is a reputable manufacturer, repairer, and supplier of earthmoving products servicing the mining, construction, and primary manufacturing industries across Australia. With decades of industry experience, they are recognised for their attention to detail, quality workmanship, and reliable nationwide delivery.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term stability and career development.

About the Role You will be joining a highly experienced and knowledgeable team in a busy workshop environment, contributing to the manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of critical components used in heavy industry.

As a Manual Machinist, your primary focus will be completing assigned tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently, while supporting a strong safety-first and teamwork-driven culture.

Key Duties
  • Manual lathe operation
  • Operation of milling machines and horizontal borers
  • Operation of radial arm drill
  • Preventive and routine maintenance of machinery
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of components
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well-serviced machines
  • Accurate completion of job-related documentation
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and workshop teams
  • Programming experience (highly regarded)

Skills & Experience
  • Trade qualified Machinist
  • Proven experience in a machine shop environment
  • Highly proficient operating manual lathes, milling machines, horizontal borers and radial arm drills
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Confident team player who can also work autonomously
  • Current forklift licence (essential)
  • Full working rights in Australia
