We are currently seeking qualified Environmental Health Officer's to a join well-regarded local government organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a public health professional to play a key role in delivering environmental health services that support the wellbeing and safety of the community.
You will provide environmental health services across legislative compliance, environmental monitoring, public health initiatives, and community education, while delivering high-quality customer service.
Position Overview
The Environmental Health Officer will be responsible for delivering environmental health services in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational standards. You will work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and the community to ensure public health standards are maintained and compliance requirements are met.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Environmental Health team to deliver consistent and high-quality services to the community
- Conduct inspections and assessments in accordance with environmental health legislation
- Provide advice and guidance on environmental and public health matters
- Investigate complaints and respond to environmental health enquiries
- Prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence as required
- Support community education and awareness initiatives relating to public health and environmental standards
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working in Environmental Health within a local government environment is highly regarded
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, stakeholder consultation, and community engagement
- Ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and community members
- Demonstrated ability to meet targets and deliver outcomes within an environmental health setting
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance
