Position Summary:
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will oversee health monitoring activities for site personnel and play a key role in promoting workplace health. You will educate employees on industrial-related health risks, such as hearing loss and silicosis, helping to build awareness and understanding. The ideal candidate will be proactive, take initiative, and contribute to improving health standards across the site.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct audiometric and spirometry testing.
- Coordinate and assist with quarterly RCS health monitoring appointments.
- Liaise with workers, supervisors, and clinics to ensure testing and follow-ups are completed.
- Assist in organising other health surveillance (arsenic, welding fumes, radiation).
- Review and update the Annual Health Monitoring Plan with site hygienist.
- Deliver toolbox talks and education sessions on hearing loss and silicosis.
- Maintain and update health monitoring records, SEG data, and test outcomes.
- Manage documentation, referrals, and onboarding of external providers.
- Ensure PPE compliance through fit test reviews and staff follow-ups.
- Manage health monitoring software and databases.
- Perform daily/annual calibration of equipment; manage consumables and software licences.
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Capable of working autonomously in a fast-changing environment.
- Be comfortable with providing clinical support and assisting in emergencies.
- Proactive in improving and building systems within a newly implemented program.
Key requirements include:
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Spirometry Certificate
- Audiometric Competent
- Advanced Life Support (ALS1/ALS2)
- HLTPAT005 - Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
- WA Valid Manual Class C Drivers Licence
- AHPRA Registration
