Coordinator – Rating Services (Revenue)
An established local government organisation in Perth is seeking an experienced Coordinator – Rating Services to lead and manage its Rating Services function.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the accurate levying, administration, and collection of rates revenue that supports essential services delivered to the community.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, you will provide both operational leadership and technical expertise to the Rating Services team, ensuring legislative compliance, excellent customer service, and effective system management.

About the Role
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Rating Services function, maintain the integrity of the property and rating database, and contribute to financial planning through rates modelling and reporting. You will also identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the Rating Services team to deliver efficient and high-quality outcomes
  • Oversee the levying and collection of rates, including debt recovery and tribunal matters
  • Provide rates modelling and analysis to support the annual budget and Council decisions
  • Manage the triennial Gross Rental Value (GRV) revaluation process in liaison with the Valuer General’s Office
  • Provide expert advice on rating legislation and compliance
  • Maintain and administer the Technology One Property & Rating system or similar platforms
  • Manage complex ratepayer enquiries and stakeholder relationships
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and reporting
  • Support, mentor, and develop team members to foster a high-performance culture
About You:
You will bring strong technical knowledge of rating processes along with leadership capability.
This role would suit:
  • An experienced Senior Rates Officer ready to step into a leadership role, or
  • An existing Rates Coordinator looking for their next challenge
You will demonstrate:
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong numeracy, reconciliation, and analytical skills
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Experience working with Technology One or similar property and rating systems
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience in rating services, debt recovery, and rates administration
  • Knowledge of relevant local government rating legislation
  • Experience working with property and rating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive equivalent experience
  • Current National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one
