This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist seeking long-term employment with a business that values reliability, initiative, and technical expertise.

The Role ChoiceOne are seeking an experienced 1st Class CNC Machinist to join the afternoon shift team in Canning Vale.

This role will see you setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances while maintaining high quality and productivity standards.

Shift Times:
• Monday to Thursday: 3:00pm – 11:00pm
• Friday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm

This position offers strong long-term potential, with permanent employment available following the qualifying period.


 

Key Responsibilities • Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts
• Work to tight tolerances and detailed engineering specifications
• Read and interpret technical drawings confidently
• Select tooling, set offsets, prove out jobs, and optimise production runs
• Carry out in-process inspections and final quality checks
• Troubleshoot machining issues including tooling wear, chatter, finish, and accuracy
• Monitor machine productivity and minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate job, production, and ERP records
• Liaise with supervisors and production teams regarding tooling and workflow
• Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean, safe workshop environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and efficiency
• Follow ISO procedures and company quality standards at all times

What We’re Looking For • Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a CNC Machinist
• Strong experience in CNC turning and/or milling
• Confident using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety
• Reliable, punctual, and takes ownership of work
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Team-focused attitude with good communication skills
• Ability to pass a DAS and Pre-Employment Medical
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Highly Regarded:
• Proven experience operating Okuma 4000 lathes
• Experience with Mazak mills and lathes
• Familiarity with the Mazatrol system
• ERP system experience
