We are recruiting on behalf of a local government client for Two experienced Civil Supervisor to lead operational teams across a broad range of civil works, including drainage, sweeping, asphalt, concrete, and bridge maintenance programs.
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Civil Operations Lead, you will:

  • Lead and supervise teams delivering civil works programs across drainage, sweeping, asphalt, concrete, and bridge works.
  • Lead day-to-day scheduling, site logistics, and coordination of City crews and external contractors across maintenance and capital works projects .
  • Manage job allocation, resource planning, timesheets, and administrative reporting across multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Monitor project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation .
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with OSH standards, environmental regulations, and City policies.
  • Provide on-site supervision and mentorship to field staff, supporting upskilling and development of newer team members.
  • Liaise with internal departments, community members, and external stakeholders to resolve enquiries and complaints.
  • Assist with preparation of procurement documentation, contractor evaluation, and job scoping for scheduled works.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, incident investigations, and risk assessments to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Be actively involved in conflict resolution and HR-related matters within the team to support a positive team culture.
  • Foster a safety-first, collaborative, and high-performing culture while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
 
About You
 
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Significant experience in civil construction and maintenance, including roads, drainage, footpaths, asphalt, concrete, and bridges.
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in field-based operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Work Health & Safety practices and risk management.
  • Experience managing contractors, operational work programs, and field crews.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, plan resources, and meet service level expectations.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and team development skills.

  • HR Driver’s Licence
