A Result to Blush About

Last Friday 24th November, ChoiceOne hosted our first Pink Ribbon Breakfast, in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This was a great opportunity to make a real difference for Australians affected by breast cancer. On the morning, both ChoiceOne staff and clients got together to discuss and reflect about this important cause.

While tea was served and attendees arrived,  it was clear that everyone’s heart was in the right place–to help, connect and do what they can to make a difference.

Guest speaker Coby Pearson, from BreastScreen WA, had the floor to an attentive room, sharing her wealth of knowledge about the importance of early detection. Her talk clearly made an impact, as several guests signed up for screening sessions. One client even signed up their whole team!

Between snacks and chats, there were exciting prizes! Pink champagne and a photography shoot to deliciousness gift hampers, there was a plethora of happy winners. One lucky participant won High Tea for four at The Origins Restaurant, generously donated by the Pan Pacific Hotel!

The intimate event was filled with smiles and positively, and most importantly, open hearts turned generous donations. Between online, cash and cheque donations, the breakfast raised almost $1000!

Every dollar of the donations will go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). NBCF is the only national body that funds breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public. We really believe research is the best way to prevent deaths, and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated. NBCF is working towards a goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Together we can help them get there.

Online donations are still open for a limited time via ChoiceOne Pink Ribbon Breakfast organizer Simone Brussow.
