 Our Client, the global leader in workforce automation, is seeking a Lead Technician to join a fast-growing team in Australia that is focused on shaping the future with artificial intelligence and robotics. The ideal candidate understands that automation is the next big technological shift, comparable to the introduction of the smartphone -- and wants to be a part of the movement, helping clients successfully transform their businesses processes and teams. This role is primarily responsible for the creating and running repairs function for our client's AI powered robotic vacuum cleaner. Initially the person will be the only technician on the team; however at a later stage the individual will be mentoring and coaching new technicians when required. Role and Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility in the repair center
  • Train, on board and mentor other technicians
  • Assign tasks and manage other technicians workload
  • Train partners on robot repair procedures
  • Plan and perform hands-on diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair and refurbishments of the robot
  • Report errors to HQ and product teams
  • Work with product and regional heads to feedback detailed analysis of product gaps and failures
  • Register all repair jobs and monitor repair status
  • Prepare and submit service documentation for both internal recording and to end user as a repair report
  • Monitor inventory to ensure accurate stock level
  • Raise purchase requisition
  • Fault-find and rectify all breakdowns
  • Perform Tier 1 on the phone customer support
  • Coordinate and work with customer service / supply chain
  • Providing technical support in line with agreed SLA's
  • Prepare and submit weekly repair report and spares consumption report

 

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Positive attitude
  • Experience in training and leading a technical repair team
  • 10 - 15 year’ experience in technical repairs & leadership
  • Technical Qualification or similar experience preferred
  • Software experience (ideal)
  • Experience in B2B technical repairs
  • Experience in dealing directly with end users and customers
  • Able to read schematic and engineering drawings
  • Interest in hands-on repair work
  • Australian driver’s license
  • A drive and passion for hands on experience with robots
  • Experience providing technical feedback to product teams
  • Actively participating in the on-call roster to provide after hours and weekend support in line with customer requirements
  • Experience working with SAP will be highly valued
